What kind of double-layer DVD should I use to backup my movies?

I want to save some of my movies on DVD, but instead to compress using DVDShrink or something, I want to save them on dual layer DVD to preserve quality. My question is, what kind of dvd should I use, DVD DL + R or DVD-R DL? My DVD recorder can record in both types of media, and I suppose I should use DVD + R DL, am I right? Thanks pour votre aide.

+ Try to copy the disc forever. I think it saves a lot of records, and time.
