Roku vs. Vudu vs. Playon vs. Tivo…?

Is there one product out there that allows you to stream or record movies and TV shows to your HDTV and record video games?

Roku and Vudu are boxes that have movies-on-demand, but limited TV shows on-demand, correct? But these system do not allow direct access to the internet?

Playon is similar, except it simply uses your PC instead of a stand-alone box. The possible advantage here is that you could access the whole internet and other TV show websites.

Then of course there’s the classic Tivo option to simply record shows … but whereas the above options don’t require a cable TV service, Tivo does?

It looks like we have all the parts, but there no one system that does it all.

Is there any one-stop-shop package that stream and recordes movies and TV directly from the internet, as well as record video game footage from a PS3 or WII?

Or, is the only option to hand-build a HDTV PC system?

TIA!

Actually Tivo allows you to stream from the internet as well (Amazon), but you are correct, for now, if you want everything, you need to use a PC with a TV tuner.
