I don’t know if you’ll agree on that : but I think in my opinion, the best short films are : the ones from Pixar !!! I think you could learn a lot on the senarios, the designs etc… You can see them on their website or you can buy them through “itunes”.
For documentaries, I don’t really know…sorry.
