Samsung LED 1080p HDTV Un55B8000 55 – to Buy
Most of what I have to say about this TV has already been said – is the LCD to win this time. That said, it's true – Features LED really local classification helps elevate blacks – almost – the level of plasma.
So it's good, very good, but it was all said before. I will focus on points not enough in my humble opinion.
In the first place – the remote control. Y "RF (radio frequency) and IR (infrared), any other device on the market.
Not a big problem if you only use the TV remote control, but it means you can use your existing remote control (eg, cable box, receiver, etc) to control TV, and this means that you can not use the remote to control other devices. So gone are the days of a universal remote to control everything, unless want to go out and buy a Logitech Harmony 900 Remote Control (Black) to go with him.
From television, almost by definition, is the only component that is not hidden, it seems strange to have opted for RF over IR.
Secondly, the media. In fact, it seems stable enough for a big screen. Yes is elegant, subtle, but it seems to provide sufficient stability in my mind.
If you are editing screen wall is right (given the appropriate support for mounting Wall, of course), but note that the screen seems unstable when mounting kit included. However, there is still upside down, but live in an earthquake zone is particularly interesting for me.
These are the only real problems I found. There are some other factors that may or not be important for some people, but never seen discussed anywhere before.
The reality need a way to disable the entries that are not using (or interested). I probably never use an antenna connected directly to the TV, but I can not remove the "TV Menu" on the screen (To switch between the inputs).
Let Samsung! Why not? The same applies to the PC input. There is also a dedicated button on the remote control to switch to this input. I would say that most people today would use a cable box or satellite, there must be a way to remap the keys of the users prefer, "not only connected to the antenna.
Note that the OSD does not drop idle connections are HDMI then fashionable. He should be able to do the same with other inputs, too.
The TV has an output digital optical transmitting the sound from any input through a receiver. In theory, it works fine, except that if the use of HDMI on the TV method, only 2-channel audio is output. This may be common (as a limitation of the HDMI standard idiot), but it was very unexpected for me.
This means that you will be the implementation of their (probably optical) HDMI cables between the base of everything and the receiver – you can not rely on the audio signal through the TV.
For reasons I do not understand all HDMI ports are arranged vertically on the left side of the device. Although not a major problem, which allows routing cable more difficult and means that you need longer cables than you think – given the prices of HDMI cables right, you can add. Samsung not only here – most of the TVs I looked to do the same, but it is inexplicable to me.
On a similar note, the thin profile of this screen is extended to the connectors in the back – do not try to use cables with connectors too thick (as some cable like Monster Cable. TV stand me. To be honest, the manual indicates a maximum thickness 14 mm cable connectors, but only after open box and play with the wiring.
Another thing that I did not find documented anywhere – including Samsung site – is power. The back plate lists the 465W maximum – significantly better than almost any plasma I looked the same size. Typical design seems to be about 250-350W, depending on what you see.
I do not understand why authorities are so hard to find these things.
So despite the negative trends that sound, I am very, very happy with the TV – all good things have been said, and I highlight the few things that caught.
SAMSUNG 55 1080p LED UN55B8000 – Amazing as advertised
The picture on this TV is hardly surprising that advertising, and is by far the clearest picture I've ever seen. Blacks are deep, colors are true and live, and the images are sharp and almost 3D-esque.
Before buying this TV, I had read comments the situation is not in terms of poor vision. Maybe my eyes are not as passionate as the experts, but I totally agree with that. I had the TV for three weeks, and watching television from different angles. I searched for a specific reduction of quality in the corners, and I did not notice any difference. So I'm not sure what you are talking about.
My only complaint about this TV (if one can really call it that) is that the speakers are fairly average. And when you look at a truly amazing picture with mediocre sound, the sound is poor and is quite annoying. Therefore, we pay another $ 600 for a speaker system external (CineMate Bose Series II) to integrate television – and this time, total cost was quite nauseating.
