Need a good video camera high definition home theater?

Hi all, I''m looking for a camera movie fans. Priority number one, if the video quality and storage device, no doubt, (a kind of map is best). I saw in Canada for I want it to be available there. My budget is just under $ 1,000 once tax is included. For example $ 900 (CAD) before taxes. I decent optical zoom (8x or more likely) and high-quality video! 24p movie mode would be good too! All recommendations are greatly appreciated. Unless someone convince me that they really do not want a hv20/30/40 due to mini-DV. Thanks again!
