Cinema Hd Power Adapter
Using the Apple LED Display power adapter on a Cinema Display?
First let me explain my situation before asking:
I own a:
- Macbook Pro (model released before the aluminum ones)
- Apple Cinema Display HD 23
I do not have an Apple LED Display, so the question is the following.
Can I buy the power adaptor for the LED display to plug my Cinema display and macbook pro using 1 power source and with the appropiate DVI converter to use the display?

Unfortunately, no.
The Apple LED Cinema Display uses a miniDisplayPort input. It is NOT compatible with the DVI port on your older Macbook Pro, and neither is the integrated power/miniDisplayPort cable.
