cinema futures
I can’t afford go to the cinema with my mates….and am being left out?

all my mates usually go to the cinema on Sundays and for each others birthday and i am usually invited…but i have to alway make up an excuse to not look stupid….i do paper rounds and get about £70 a week….this would be great pocket money if i didn’t have to pay for the interent and try and replace the money in the savings account with i used to be my laptop with (really need for homework).

i am really short on cash and my mates really don’t understand this because their parents all work and my mum is a B**** and hasn’t worked for 3 years (no one will except her because she can’t speak good english)..therefore i have to pay for my own exppensise and lay off a little bit for the future (so i don’t end up like i am now).

what can i do….i REALLY don’t like my mates paying for me…as i end up feeling stupid in front of them and end up paying them back….therefore losing the money.

maybe put a little less into the savings account, if you have £70.00 a week that’s £280.00 a month the internet with the phone line can come to a maximum of £35.00 a month on BT leaving £245.00 if you bought a laptop from a catalogue you would pay about £11.00 a week leaving £200.00 so maybe pace yourself with the repayments.
I think it is a very good thing you are doing saving your money and repaying your debt at your age but I do not think it is nice to call your mum names, she may not have a job but you say the reason is because she cannot speak good english.
I would tell your friends that you can not afford to go to the cinema every week and that you feel guilty taking their money, maybe they do not mind at all, maybe they would rather pay for you than leave you out seems as they sound like they are good friends to you.
You could try renting a dvd to watch and sharing the cost between yourselves, my daughter is 13 and sells chewing gum and lollies at school that she buys cheaply from home bargains she does not make a huge profit but always has spare money.
I don’t know how old you are but maybe there is another job you could do that may give you more money than a paper round although it does sound well paid.
I hope I have given you a few ideas that might work for you and apart from the bad language, well done in trying to sort things out and planning for your future, there are not many young people that would buy a laptop for homework instead of going out but in the long run you will come out better off.
