Cinema Display Power Supply
Blank screen?
In the last few weeks, while working in the computer ( PC, running Windows XP ) – online or working in an application like Photoshop – without warning, my screen ( Apple Cinema Display ) turns black. No response after tapping the mouse, pushing the escape key or things of that sort. After pushing the reset button and bringing everything back up, everything seems fine and functions normally. I’ve taken the hard drive in for a complete test, top to bottom. The tech guys ran the drive non-stop for a couple of days and ran every conceivable test of the unit – hard drive, ram, fans, power supply, the works – finding no problems. A similar 30-hour test of the monitor at the local Apple dealership also found nothing.
Has anyone ever had this sort of problem? Anybody have any ideas or solutions? Thanks, all.
Some thermal overload tripped in the monitor and reset once it cooled down. Nothing to worry about…..
You might have them (the techs) take the back off the monitor and vaccuum the dust off the components. Have you done anything to restrict airflow through the vents?
