Are the Avatar 3D movie glasses normal red and blue 3D glasses?
I have heard that you can’t use the normal red and blue 3D glasses. Is that true? I’m living in a small city in Asia and the Cinema I go to does not give out glasses, so I learned to make my own. But if I can’t even use those then I’ll just wait till I go back to the U.S.A and watch it then.

To see a movie in 3d, the film has to be in the 3d format. Also theaters only use polarized 3d with the tinted glasses, or field sequential or eclipse 3d with the shutter glasses. Polarized it the most common while the other format is in some Imax theaters. Overseas they use field sequential more often. Anyway my point is you are going to run into theaters that are not showing it in 3d because so many of them here in the US and around the world don’t have a 3d projector. If you want to see it in 3d come to the US and find a theater that can show 3d. It will be playing for about 3 months. Also the red and blue glasses are a totally different 3d format and will not work with polarized or field sequencial.
