Spiritually speaking, why do all Bible films cast British actors or actors feigning British accents?
ditto for fantasy films…most characters (e.g. Frodo, Darth Vader) have a British accent…
[Heck, even Orcs talk like scoundrels right out of a Charles Dickens' story...]

I believe the answer lies in the prevailing perception of what is proper, right, and legitimate. It’s amazing what the proper use of language can convey unconsciously. The pinnacle of ‘should’ comes to mind, commanding authority, respect, and in a way parental overtones. The English roots to our country’s origin are deep in the psyche of the American soul – one wanting to convey gravity or authority or role-defining messages in their film would certainly want to leverage this to their advantage.
